Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PrepPlate mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by PrepPlate ("we", "our", or "us"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use PrepPlate. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@prepplate.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may not create accounts for others without their permission, impersonate any person, or use automated means to create accounts.

3. Your Content

Content you create in PrepPlate — recipes, pantry items, meal plans, and grocery lists — belongs to you. By storing content in the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and display that content solely to provide the Service to you and your household members.

You are responsible for ensuring that any content you add (including imported recipes) does not infringe third-party copyrights or other rights.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the Service
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Resell or sublicence access to the Service

5. Household Features

PrepPlate allows you to create or join a household to share pantry data, meal plans, and grocery lists. By joining a household, you acknowledge that other household members can view and edit shared data. You are responsible for who you invite to your household.

6. Third-Party Recipe Content

PrepPlate integrates with TheMealDB and other external recipe databases for discovery purposes. Recipe content retrieved from these sources is subject to the terms and licences of those providers. We do not claim ownership of externally sourced recipes.

7. Service Availability

We aim to keep PrepPlate available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may suspend or modify the Service for maintenance, security, or other operational reasons without notice.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PREPPLATE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account from the app. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms without prior notice.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
